Isaiah 30:18 (NLT) So the Lord must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the Lord is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for his help.

You have probably heard a lot of sermons about waiting on God and I am sure that many people have told you to wait on God when you have been going through problems and difficulties in your life. That is great advice that comes straight from the Word of God. But something that you probably have not heard as much is how God waits for you.

Many times our view of our Heavenly Father is one dimensional. We only think about how we relate to God and not too much about how He relates to us. If you take a look back on your life, you will see how the Lord has waited for you many times and in many ways. He waited for you to realize that you needed help. For many people, it took a while for them to realize that they needed Him. They looked everywhere else to find what their soul was looking for without any success. All the while, Jesus was waiting for them and watching over them in the meantime. I have had so many people that are now following Jesus tell me that they are only alive and standing in front of me because of the grace of God. They remember incidences where their lives were in danger through either a severe accident or other serious situations that should have led to their death, but somehow, they made it out alive. They now know that the Lord was watching over them while He waited for them to come to Him.

The idea of Almighty God, the God who created everything, being mindful of us individually is mind-blowing and many people have a hard time believing that. But just looking back at our lives should give us plenty of evidence that He absolutely is mindful of us and has been watching over us and waiting for us all along. In Psalm 8:4 the psalmist David wrote, “What is mankind that you are mindful of them?” I am so thankful that the Lord Jesus was mindful of me and that He waited for me with divine patience to come to Him and surrender my all to Him. How about you?
