Philippians 4:19 (NIV) And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

In life, there are always things that we need to purchase for everyday needs. We need to buy food, clothing, appliances for our home, cleaning products, toiletries, etc. Then there are the things that we don't necessarily need but that we want. That's why it's so nice and convenient that we have supercenters such as Walmart. Just about anything that you can think of buying, they have it. Whether it be groceries, clothes, pharmacy items, toys, baby and toddler clothes and items, furniture, car accessories including tires for your car, electronics...and the list goes on and on. You can just about get everything you need or want with just making one stop.

What is far better than that, however, is the God that we serve. He is a one-stop God and what He makes available to us is exactly what we need for life and for godliness (2 Peter 1:3). There's a song that we used to sing in church entitled, "He's all I Need." We all sang it, but I don't think that a lot of us that sang that song back then truly believed what we were singing. I say that because if people actually believed that the Lord is all that we need, then they wouldn't be looking here, there and everywhere for what they think they want or need. That's what gets people into trouble and difficulty. Looking for things in the wrong places can lead to a lot of heartache and pain. All the while, we have our Lord Jesus who paid a high price so that we can have direct access to God's throne room of grace to receive mercy, grace and help for all of our needs. God even gives us some of our wants when they won't harm us and are in line with His perfect will for us. Oh, if God's people only knew how blessed they really are and how they have access to the Father the heavenly lights from whom every good and perfect gift comes from (James 1:17)!

Don't run to the wrong places to try to supply things for yourself but instead, run to God for your needs. The Word of God tells us that He owns everything on the earth and above the earth. You can go to Him for ALL of your needs. He is your Provider, your Great Physician, your Protector, your Defender, your Deliverer, your Good Shepherd and He's the Lifter of your head, meaning that He knows how to lift your soul up and encourage you when you feel down and out. For any and every need, run to your one-stop God!
