Psalm 92:1-2 (ESV) It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to your name, O Most High; to declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night...

It's always a good time and the right time to lift up praises to our Lord and Savior Jesus. It's right to do so not only because of all that He has done for us already, but all that He continues to do to provide, protect, heal and deliver us. He is always working for good in our lives and it is right to remember to give Him thanks and praise for that. It's also good to remember to praise Him because He is our Savior, Lord, Redeemer, and Friend! It's so good to remember that all day long.

Another reason that it's good to give thanks and praise to Jesus at all times is that it keeps us close to Him. When you have Jesus on your mind, then there are a lot of things that don't belong in your mind that will find no room because your mind is occupied with Jesus and with things above (Colossians 3:1). That doesn't mean that you become weird and that you can't talk about anything else. It just means that you are aware of the presence of Christ in you. Being aware of that fact will keep you in an attitude of thanksgiving and of praise and will deepen your relationship with Him. When you are with someone all day that are super-close to, you don't talk all day, but you can start a conversation whenever you want to because that person is right there with you. Being aware of the presence of Jesus in your life will not only increase your communication with Him (that's called prayer), but will also move you to thank and praise Him continually for all that He has done for you. A thankful and praised filled heart will bless your soul and help you face anything that life throws at you. That's what makes it "well with your soul."

The psalmist who wrote the psalm above (probably David) said that it is good to give thanks to the Lord and to sing praises to Him, and we've listed some reasons why it is good. But the best reason to do so is that He is worthy of our praise not only because of what He has done and because it keeps us close to Him, but also because of who He is. It is God Almighty who created the heavens and the earth and who is our Creator as well. He is God and God alone and the One who made us and because of that, He loves us with a love that we can't fully understand. Give thanks to the Lord all day long and sing praises to Him and you will live a fruitful life and experience wellness in your soul. It is so good to praise and thank Jesus continually!
